Meet Liz Greene

I feel incredibly honored to accompany my clients in their lives, whether for the short term to work through a specific issue or for longer periods that involve deeper transformation. My work with individual adults, couples, and teens is attuned to early childhood histories of love and belonging – and how those continue to shape present-day life. It is also sensitive to major life experiences, including loss, trauma, and illness, that can alter one’s direction or sense of well-being. My goal is to create a secure space for clients to feel their emotions so that the path forward is less encumbered by the bushes and brambles of their pasts -- and more aligned with each person’s hopes and goals.

In addition to my private-practice work, I have experience as a psychotherapist at a community mental health organization and at a residential treatment center for children and adolescents. I also routinely take part in continuing education so that my view of what is possible in therapy is constantly evolving. I’m informed by training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), humanistic psychology, mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). Witnessing the very personal impact of climate change on my clients, I joined the Climate Psychology Alliance North America (CPA-NA) and am engaged in ongoing ecotherapy training.

I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from the University of Massachusetts and my bachelor’s degree from Barnard College of Columbia University, where I majored in English. I also have a law degree from George Mason University in Virginia.

Liz is committed to working with a broad array of people and concerns.
